Honoring Johnnie B. Walton
Johnnie B. Walton is a former professional football quarterback whose life’s work reflects leadership, perseverance, and service beyond the field. He played at the professional level, including time with the Philadelphia Eagles, and made history as the first Black-American quarterback with the team. He also lead the Indianapolis Capitols of the CFL (Continental Football League) to a league championship .
Following his athletic career, Johnnie committed himself to mentorship, faith-based leadership, and community service, with a focus on youth development and character formation. His lived experience—navigating barriers, discipline, and responsibility at the highest levels of competition—now informs his mission to create opportunity, restore dignity, and support pathways toward long-term stability for underserved communities.

The Johnnie B. Walton Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that has applied for recognition of tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
At this time, donations are not tax-deductible unless and until 501(c)(3) status is formally approved by the Internal Revenue Service.
All contributions support the Foundation’s charitable and educational programs. Donors will be notified if tax-exempt status is granted and retroactive deductibility becomes applicable as permitted by law.
